Description of coin Poltina 1809 (SPB MK):

Coin of this type was produced in 1809 and 1810. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding around the circumference of the rim with inward-facing teeth. In appearance resembles a coin 1802-1805 years of release, but with a few differences and made more carefully.

The obverse of the coin depicts the State Emblem of the Russian Empire first half of XIX century. The coat of arms double-headed eagle with raised wings, crowned by two Imperial crowns, above is the same crown but larger. Right Talon the eagle holds a scepter, the left - power. On the chest is placed a shield with the Moscow coat of arms: St. George on horseback slaying a serpentine dragon with wings. Moscow coat of arms surrounded by chain of the order of Saint Apostle Andrey Pervozvannogo. Under the clutches of an eagle located mintmaster the initials of the mint - letters "М"and "К" In a circle along the rim below from left to right, nominal value - "МОНЕТА ПОЛТИНА" at the top of the year of issue "1809" (to the right of the year there is a large stylized point).
