Description of coin Ruble 1816 (SPB, SS):

The coin was produced from 1810 to 1826. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding around the circumference of the rim with inward-facing teeth.

The obverse of the coin depicts the State Emblem of the Russian Empire first half of XIX century. The coat of arms double-headed eagle with raised wings, crowned by two Imperial crowns, above is the same crown but larger. Right Talon the eagle holds a scepter, the left - power. On the chest is placed a shield with the Moscow coat of arms: St. George on horseback slaying a serpentine dragon with wings. Moscow coat of arms surrounded by chain of the order of Saint Apostle Andrey Pervozvannogo. Under the clutches of an eagle located mintmaster the initials of the mint - letters "П"and "С" In a circle along the rim at the top of the par - "МОНЕТА РУБЛЬ" at the bottom the year of issue "1816", the inscription divided into three six-pointed stars.

On the coin reverse in the middle of a four-line inscription: "ЧИСТАГО СЕРЕБРА 4 ЗОЛОТН. 21 ДОЛЯ"(symbol of the weight of pure metal). Below the solid horizontal line, and under it the letters "С.П.Б."(Saint-Petersburg). The sides along the rim are two branches (oak and Laurel) that are associated at the bottom with tape. At the top of the Imperial crown.
