Description of coin Ruble 1725 ("mourning"):

The very first version of the ruble with a portrait of Catherine I, produced in the beginning of the reign. Because of the simple clothes of the Empress received the name of "mourning", as was produced for the first time after the death of her husband Peter the Great. All original RUB this type is dated 1725, but copies may be other dates. The circumference of the front and back sides have a raised rim, consisting of the large dots.

On the obverse is a portrait of Catherine I in profile, face to the left. In a circle the inscription (starting at the top) - "ЕКАТЕРIНА IМПЕРАТРИЦА IСАМОДЕРЖИЦА ВСЕРОСIСКАЯ"

The reverse depicts the coat of arms of the Russian Empire the first quarter of XVIII century: the double-headed eagle with the lifted wings, crowned by two Imperial crowns, above the same crown but larger. Right Talon the eagle holds a scepter, the left power. In a circle the inscription (starting at the top) - "МОНЕТА  НОВАЯ * ЦЕНА РУБЛЬ * 1725"(letters converted basis inside).
