Description of coin 2 kopecks 1796 (monogram):

The obverse depicts a simplified monogram of Catherine II, made up of letters "Е"(Catherine) and Roman numerals "II" Upstairs the Imperial crown. On the sides there is one prominent point in the circle.

On the reverse , nominal value - the figure "2" above, below, inscription in two lines - "ДВЕ КОПЕЙКИ" Downstairs there is a triple horizontal line, under which is listed the year "1796".

In 1796, by decree of P. Zubov was conducted lowering the copper coin of the foot 2 times, therefore a new design of coins from the penny to 10 cents.
