Description of coin Grivennik 1741 (MMD):

The coin was produced only in 1741 in two versions: with the words "САМОД"and the inscription "САМД"around the portrait. In a circle the front and back of a rim with notches (on some coins may partially be absent, it is not a marriage).

On the obverse is a portrait of a young Ivan III (VI) in a Laurel wreath, in profile, face to the right (the age of the Emperor is a bit higher). Under the portrait letters "М•М•Д•"(Moscow mint). In a circle the inscription - "IОАННЪIII•БМ•IМП•IСАМОД:ВСЕРОС:"(stands for "John III, by the grace of God Emperor and autocrat of all Russia").

On the reverse cartouche, indicating the denomination and year in three lines "ГРИВЕН НИКЪ 1741" In the upper part of the cartouche, two stylized Laurel branches, between the Imperial crown.
