Description of coin Ruble 1741 (SPB):

The coin was produced only in 1741. In a circle the front and back of a rim with notches (on some coins may partially be absent, it is not a marriage).

On the obverse is a portrait of a young Ivan III (VI) in a Laurel wreath, in profile, face to the right (the age of the Emperor is a bit higher). Under the portrait letters "С•П•Б"(Saint-Petersburg). In a circle the inscription - "IОАННЪ•III•Б•М•IМП:IСАМОД:ВСЕРОС:"(stands for "John III, by the grace of God Emperor and autocrat of all Russia").

The reverse depicts the coat of arms of the Russian Empire in the mid XVIII century: the double-headed eagle with the lifted wings, crowned by two Imperial crowns, above the same crown but larger. Right Talon the eagle holds a scepter, the left power. On the eagle's breast shield with the Moscow coat of arms: St. George on horseback slaying a serpentine dragon with wings. The shield surrounded by chain of Order of St. Andrew. At the top of the semicircle indicated the year of coinage, divided into two parts - "17 41". At the bottom a semicircle of nominal - "МО  НЕТА  РУБЛЬ•"(letters converted basis inside).
