The coin is minted from copper, were produced from 1839 to 1848. The circumference of the front and back sides there is a ring of dots. In some instances there is slight raised rim (can be interrupted or placed in places). Shift stamp in the embossing is not a marriage.
The obverse of the coin shows the monogram of Nicholas I (the large stylized letter "Н" over her great Imperial crown, below the Roman numeral "I"with horizontal corrugation).
On the coin reverse at the top of the fraction, nominal value: number "1" underneath a horizontal line, and the figure "2" (i.e. 1/2). Under par in two lines, the inscription - "КОПЕЙКИ СЕРЕБРОМ"(reference to the silver ruble), below that horizontal line, consisting of two tapering towards the edges of the lines with a dot in the middle, under it the date of issue "1840.". At the bottom of the letters "Е.М."(Yekaterinburg coin).
