The coin is minted from copper, were produced from 1839 to 1848. The circumference of the front and back sides there is a ring of dots. In some instances there is slight raised rim (can be interrupted or placed in places). Shift stamp in the embossing is not a marriage.
The obverse of the coin shows the monogram of Nicholas I (the large stylized letter "Н" over her great Imperial crown, below the Roman numeral "I"with horizontal corrugation).
On the coin reverse in the middle of the set value: the number "3" under it in two lines, the inscription - "КОПЕЙКИ СЕРЕБРОМ"(reference to the silver ruble). The left and right of the number "3" has two stars. Below another horizontal line, consisting of two tapering towards the edges of the lines with a dot in the middle, under it the date of issue "1843.". At the bottom of the letters "Е.М."(Yekaterinburg coin).
