Description of coin Poltina 1854 (SPB HI):

Coin of this type was made from the silver 868 samples in 1832-1858. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding around the circumference of the rim with inward-facing teeth.

The obverse of the coin in the Central part of the State Emblem of the Russian Empire in 1830. The coat of arms double-headed eagle crowned with two Imperial crowns, above is the same crown but larger. Right Talon the eagle holds a scepter, the left - power. Placed on the breast the Moscow coat of arms: St. George on horseback slaying a serpentine dragon with wings. Moscow coat of arms surrounded by chain of the order of Saint Apostle Andrey Pervozvannogo. Lifted up on the wings of an eagle located the coats of arms of the six kingdoms (three on each wing). On the left the arms of the kingdoms: Kazan, Astrakhan and Siberian. On the right the arms of the kingdoms of Poland, Tauric Chersonesos and the Grand Duchy of Finland. In contrast to the official emblem, the wings of an eagle bent to the center. Left and right of the tail bearing the initials of mintmaster - "Н"and "I" Surrounds the coat of arms is a raised ring, which circle is listed the weight of the coin: "ЧИСТАГО СЕРЕБРА 2 ЗОЛОТНИКА 10 1/2 ДОЛЕЙ" The beginning and the end of the label, separated by a flower.
