Description of coin Ruble 1762 (SPB, monogram):

Trial coin, known in several copies. There is also a variant with the coat of arms instead of a monogram, which with some changes was adopted in the national coinage. In a circle on the obverse and reverse of the coin features a wide rim with notches.

On the obverse is a portrait of Peter III in profile, face to the right. Under the portrait letters "СПБ"(Saint-Petersburg). In a circle the inscription - "ПЕТРЪ•III•Б•М•IМП•IСАМОДЕРЖ•ВСЕРОС"(stands for "Peter III, by the grace of God Emperor and autocrat of all Russia").

The reverse shows the monogram of Peter III: four intersecting letters "П" arranged in a circle, the upper part of the inside. Between the letters at an angle of 45 degrees marked with Roman numerals "III"with three dots above each. Around near letters "П"there is a large Imperial crown. In a circle the inscription, divided into 4 parts (starting from top) - "МОНЕТА НОВАЯ ЦЕНА РУБЛЬ"
