Description of coin 1 Spool   (gold ingot):

In the smelting of gold nuggets or melting products remained a fairly large amount of silver, which surrendered to the customer in the form of these bars, called refining (refining - removal of impurities from precious metals). On the bars indicates the weight of the spools, they had a circulation on par with silver coins and exchanged for the mass of contained silver. On roubles of that time indicated a silver content in the proportions and spools (1 spool - 96 shares), it turns out this ingot could be equated to 24 cents.


On the obverse in Central circle is the image of Small State Emblem of the Russian Empire of the sample of 1856. The coat of arms double-headed eagle crowned with two Imperial crowns, above is the same crown, but a larger size is associated with lower crowns waving a tape of Andrew's order. Right Talon the eagle holds a scepter, the left - power. Placed on the breast the Moscow coat of arms: St. George on horseback slaying a serpentine dragon with wings. Moscow coat of arms surrounded by chain of the order of Saint Apostle Andrey Pervozvannogo. Lifted up on the wings of an eagle located the coats of arms of the eight kingdoms (four on each wing). On the left the arms of the kingdoms: Kazan, Polish, Tauric Chersonesos, and United in one the coats of arms of the Grand principalities of Kiev, Vladimir and Novgorod. On the right the arms of kings: Astrakhan, Siberia, Moscow and the Grand Duchy of Finland. The tail of a stylized eagle made. On the sides of the tail there are two letters - "D" (Alexander Dobranetski, the main properer Saint-Petersburg mint).

On the reverse of the top in two lines are the fineness of the alloy - "990 TEST", below the specified weight (number "1" under which a semicircular inscription - "ЗОЛОТНИК".
