Description of coin 1 ruble 1998 (MMD):

The obverse of the coin depicts in the middle the emblem of the Bank of Russia - double-headed eagle with drooping wings, above the emblem in a semicircle along the edge runs the inscription - "БАНК РОССИИ" and at the bottom in the same font, but horizontally, nominal value - "ОДИН РУБЛЬ" Under the right paw of the eagle is a mark of the mint, which minted the coin (MMD - Moscow). In the lower part of the coin field, displays the year of issue "1998", separated from the upper part of the figure by two horizontal lines, tapering to the edge, separated by a dot.

The reverse features a large numeral "1" is specified denomination, the figure is slightly offset from the Central axis to the left. Under the denomination of a word "РУБЛЬ" centered in relation to the nominal value. In the left, bottom and right parts of the field of the coin is the ornament of branches of plants.

The coin is gray with greenish tint made of highly resistant copper-Nickel alloy. Ferromagnetic properties has not. On the front and back sides on the circumference there is a raised rim. The edge of the coin is corrugated, consists of 110 notches.
