The obverse of the coin

shows part of the monument on the Kurgan of glory in Minsk region of Belarus. On a circle the inscription: top - "БЕЛОРУССКАЯ ОПЕРАЦИЯ" at the bottom in a smaller font - "ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 гг."(labels separated by five-pointed stars).
The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.

Belorussian operation known as "Operation Bagration", was held from 23 June to 29 August 1944. The name given by the name of the outstanding commander of the Patriotic war of 1812 Bagration. During previous fighting, the front line settled down approximately on the line of the modern borders of Belarus and Russia. After suffering a decisive defeat in the Ukraine, the Germans threw all their forces in Belarus. In the first two weeks of the Soviet troops managed to make significant progress to the West, to liberate Minsk, Vilnius, as well as a significant part of the territory. In many ways, the result was a consequence of the actions of the guerrillas. Then Hitler was given orders not to retreat under any conditions, resulting in severe and prolonged fighting on the front lines. However, by the end of August was liberated Belarus and part of Poland and the Baltic States.
