The obverse of the coin

(consists of letters "ММД". On the left, near Kant is one small part of a floral ornament.The reverse of the coin
shows part of the monument of Glory in Lviv (Western Ukraine). On a circle the inscription: top - "ЛЬВОВСКО-САНДОМИРСКАЯ ОПЕРАЦИЯ" below - "ВЕЛИКАЯ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА 1941-1945 гг."(labels separated by five-pointed stars).
The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.

The Lvov-Sandomierz operation was parallel with the liberation of Belarus from 13 July to 29 August 1944. The German army in this battle were crushed, her whole Eastern front was split into two parts. This was the final phase of fighting on the territory of Ukraine, after which the country was fully liberated. On the side of the Nazis fought also the division of the rebel Ukrainian "Galicia" and UPA fighters continued to fight the Soviets for several years.
