The battle of Berlin took place from April 16 to may 8, 1945, April 25 took place the famous meeting on the Elbe, in which the Nazi army was split into two parts. This battle was recorded in the Guinness Book of records as the largest in history (3.5 million soldiers, almost 8 thousand tanks, more than 11 thousand aircraft and more than 50 thousand guns), on the number of troops slightly inferior to the battle of the Dnieper, but the timing was much shorter. The result was the destruction of the entire military and political leadership of Germany, the triumphant capture of Berlin by Soviet troops, a show of force the red Army to Western countries intending to organize a post-war Union (to avoid that and failed), the release of hundreds of thousands of concentration camp prisoners and prisoners of war. Units of the German army, who lost his command, managed to escape to Prague and to organize resistance, which was suppressed only after 10 days.
