Description of coin 10 rubles 2002 "Kostroma":

Embossing is produced on the workpiece consisting of two metals: brass ring, inside which is inserted a copper-Nickel disk. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.

The obverse of the coin in the middle of two lines with specified amount (the number "10" underneath the word "РУБЛЕЙ" below is a mark of the Moscow mint (consists of letters "ММД". Inside the figure "0" alternately when changing the angle of inclination can be seen the number "10" and the word "РУБ" On a circle above the inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" at the bottom the year of issue "2002", on the left a Laurel branch, right to oak.

The reverse of the coin depicts the pavilion of Ostrovsky on the background of the Volga river, on the opposite shore is visible Ipatiev monastery. Top right is placed the emblem of Kostroma. On the yellow ring at the top circumference has a recessed inscription "ДРЕВНИЕ ГОРОДА РОССИИ" the bottom convex inscription "КОСТРОМА"between the two triangular cutouts.

Artist and sculptor - A. S. Kunats. The coin is issued on 27 June 2002.


Kostroma is included in all routes of the Golden ring of Russia, has retained the architectural appearance of the Imperial period (the layout is designed by Catherine II), as well as several more ancient monuments, monasteries, churches. The most significant attraction can be called Ipatiev monastery, played a crucial role in the establishment of the Romanov dynasty.
