depicts the panorama of the city on both banks of the Dnieper river. In the foreground the monument to the heroes of the Patriotic war of 1812. Top left is placed the coat of arms of Dorogobuzh. On the yellow ring at the top circumference has a recessed inscription "ДРЕВНИЕ ГОРОДА РОССИИ" the bottom convex inscription "ДОРОГОБУЖ"between the two triangular cutouts.

Dorogobuzh is located in Smolensk region on the banks of the Dnieper river, was first mentioned in a Charter Dating from the XIII century. The city was on the Old Smolensk road, played an important role in trade and the protection of Moscow.
