The coin is made on a steel billet with thin brass electroplating. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.

Inside the figure "0" alternately when changing the angle of inclination can be seen the number "10" and the word "РУБ" On a circle above the inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" at the bottom the year of issue "2013" on the left a Laurel branch, right to oak. Bottom right there is a sign
of the Saint-Petersburg mint (consists of letters "СПМД".
The reverse of the coin depicts in the middle the coat of arms of the city of Kozelsk, over it along the edging has a stylized semi-circular sash with a depressed inscription - "ГОРОДА ВОИНСКОЙ СЛАВЫ" Below in a semicircle the name of the city "КОЗЕЛЬСК"

Kozel'sk is located in the Kaluga region about 70 kilometers South of Kaluga. The most famous city in 1238, when, in the course of 7 weeks resisted the Tatar-Mongol invaders. The title "City of military glory" has received 5 December 2009 for the courage, fortitude and mass heroism its defenders showed in the fight for freedom and independence of the Fatherland.
