On the obverse of the coins in the circle framed by Nosovym rim, is the relief picture of the emblem of the Bank of Russia - double-headed eagle with the lowered wings, under it an inscription a semicircle "БАНК РОССИИ" as well as on the circumference there are inscriptions, separated by dots: the nominal value "ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ"and year of coinage "2012", between them bear the label of metal on the Periodic system of chemical elements D. I. Mendeleev, fineness, the trademark of a mint and weight of precious metal in purity.
On the flip side of the coin is the relief image of St. George on horseback spearing a snake.
On the obverse and reverse sides of the coins along the circumference there is a raised rim.
