at the background of the ruins of city buildings shows three Soviet soldiers with rifles at the time of the attack. Circumferentially along the rim inscriptions: at the top - "ОСВОБОЖДЕНИЕ ЕВРОПЫ ОТ ФАШИЗМА" below - "КЕНИГСБЕРГ 09∙04∙1945г."(upper inscription is separated from the lower points).
The obverse and reverse of the coin features the speaker on the circumference of the piping.

The liberation of Konigsberg fortress - one of the final stages of the East-Prussian operation to liberate the Northern part of Germany, was held from 13 January to 25 April 1945. In the battle participated the army, which in the latter stages joined the Navy. On the side of the Soviet Union also fought France and Normandy regiment "Neman". It was one of the most difficult battles with heavy losses on both sides. As a result, eliminated the main forces of the enemy, liberated the Northern part of Poland, East Prussia. In July at the Potsdam conference, the Northern part of East Prussia was transferred to the Soviet Union for temporary use, and later completely fixed within the borders of the Soviet Union (under the name of Kaliningrad oblast). Koenigsberg was renamed Kaliningrad.
