The obverse of the coin in the centre circle of dots indicated value: a large figure "5" under it the word "РУБЛЕЙ" below between two thickened to the center of the lines is the mark of the Leningrad mint (stylized letters "ЛМД" beneath the mintage year: "1992". The white rim above the inscription: "БАНК РОССИИ" at the bottom the year of issue: "1992". Outside of the top Kazakh is written the name of the state of Kazakhstan, at the bottom "БАНК РОССИИ" The inscriptions are separated by small ornaments.
The reverse of the coin vividly depicts the mausoleum-mosque of Akhmed Yasavi in Turkestan (Kazakhstan). The bottom horizontal stylized font is specified "ТУРКЕСТАН" up in a semicircle along the rim in the same font: "МАВЗОЛЕЙ-МЕЧЕТЬ АХМЕДА ЯСАВИ" below in the frame of the ornament the date of construction of the mausoleum - "XIV В."
The obverse and reverse of the coin features the speaker on the circumference of the piping.

Khoja Ahmed Yasavi, a Turkic poet of the XII century, revered throughout Central Asia and other Muslim countries. Known through the writing of poems that marked the beginning of Sufism - one of Islam. Poet gained notoriety during his lifetime, and was buried in a small mausoleum.
