The obverse of the coin in the center there is the emblem of the Bank of Russia (the eagle with drooping wings, I. Bilibin). Up in a semicircle along the rim the inscription: "ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ" below "БАНК РОССИИ"(the inscriptions are separated by ornaments, consisting of five diamonds).
The reverse of the coin is the relief image of the Soviet soldier (photo by M. Alpert) with a raised gun in his right hand. Left in the background is part of a five-pointed star, over which the two lines with the date "1941 to 1945", below a branch of Laurel. On the right hand of the battalion commander joins the rim - the year of issue coins "1995", and above the hand near Kant the mark of the Leningrad mint (stylized letters "ЛМД". Up in a semicircle an inscription: "50 ЛЕТ ВЕЛИКОЙ ПОБЕДЫ"

The famous photograph "combat" was made in 1942, the Soviet photographer max Alpert. It depicts a Junior political officer AG Eremenko, raising soldiers to attack. There are several versions of what time the picture was taken. According to one of the soldiers died a few seconds after the captured moment. The event took place in Ukraine in the vicinity of Lugansk.
