Embossing is produced on the workpiece consisting of two metals - and-white copper-Nickel ring, inside which copper-zinc disk. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.
The obverse of the coin in the center is a depiction of the emblem of the Bank of Russia (double-headed eagle with drooping wings), still below the mark of the Leningrad mint (stylized letters "ЛМД". The white rim above the inscription: "50 РУБЛЕЙ 1993 г." below the inscription: "БАНК РОССИИ" The inscriptions are separated elements consisting of two intersecting rhombuses.
On the coin reverse in the center (yellow disk) the image of the black bear among vegetation, the top left branch of the tree. On a circle above the inscription - "КРАСНАЯ КНИГА" below - "ДАЛЬНЕВОСТОЧНЫЙ АИСТ" Labels separated by dots.
Refers to a series of 15 bimetal coins dedicated to the animals of the red book.

The Oriental stork is different from the usual stork of larger size, the beak and the presence of red rims around the eyes. Breeds mainly in Russia in the far East in the basins of the rivers Amur and Ussuri. Occasionally found in Mongolia, Korea and North Eastern China. Habitat - swamps and river banks, almost does not appear near human settlements.
