Description of coin 50 rubles 1993 "Red book. The Caucasian black grouse":

Embossing is produced on the workpiece consisting of two metals - and-white copper-Nickel ring, inside which copper-zinc disk. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.

The obverse of the coin in the center is a depiction of the emblem of the Bank of Russia (double-headed eagle with drooping wings), still below the mark of the Leningrad mint (stylized letters "ЛМД". The white rim above the inscription: "50 РУБЛЕЙ 1993 г." below the inscription: "БАНК РОССИИ" The inscriptions are separated elements consisting of two intersecting rhombuses.

On the coin reverse in the center (yellow disk) the image of the Caucasian black grouse standing on the hill among the plants. On a circle above the inscription - "КРАСНАЯ КНИГА" below - "КАВКАЗСКИЙ ТЕТЕРЕВ" Labels separated by dots.

Refers to a series of 15 bimetal coins dedicated to the animals of the red book.

The Caucasian black grouse is small in size, black color and long tail. Above the eyes there are thick red eyebrows. Inhabits the Caucasian mountains in Russia, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Found at heights exceeding 2 thousand meters. Due to the undertaken actions for the protection of the species, its population has recently increased, but the population is not yet hardened.
