Embossing is produced on the workpiece consisting of two metals - and-white copper-Nickel ring, inside which copper-zinc disk. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.
The obverse of the coin in the center is a depiction of the emblem of the Bank of Russia (double-headed eagle with drooping wings), still below the mark of the Leningrad mint (stylized letters "ЛМД". The white rim above the inscription: "50 РУБЛЕЙ 1993 г." below the inscription: "БАНК РОССИИ" The inscriptions are separated elements consisting of two intersecting rhombuses.
On the coin reverse in the center (the yellow disk), the image eublepharis Turkmen steppe vegetation. On a circle above the inscription - "КРАСНАЯ КНИГА" below - "ТУРКМЕНСКИЙ ЭУБЛЕФАР" Labels separated by dots.
Refers to a series of 15 bimetal coins dedicated to the animals of the red book.

Turkmen ablefor - lizard of the Gecko family, reaches a length of 15 inches, tail up to 10 inches. Carnivore, eats insects, crustaceans and very small animals. The number of species is unknown, but distributed over a large area, though extremely rare. Inhabits the mountains of Turkmenistan and Northern Iran.
