Embossing is produced on the workpiece consisting of two metals - and-white copper-Nickel ring, inside which copper-zinc disk. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.
The obverse of the coin in the center is a depiction of the emblem of the Bank of Russia (double-headed eagle with drooping wings), still below the mark of the Leningrad mint (stylized letters "ЛМД". The white rim above the inscription: "50 РУБЛЕЙ 1994г." below the inscription: "БАНК РОССИИ" The inscriptions are separated elements consisting of two intersecting rhombuses.
On the coin reverse in the center (yellow disc) depicts two flamingos on the waterfront, in the background a flying bird. On a circle above the inscription - "КРАСНАЯ КНИГА" below - "ФЛАМИНГО" Labels separated by dots.
Refers to a series of 15 bimetal coins dedicated to the animals of the red book.

Flamingo - large bird with very long thin legs, massive body and a large beak. The color of the plumage in different species can vary from red to white, which depends on the method of power (gives food a reddish color). Mainly feeds on small crustaceans. Due to the protective coating of the feet and set high body can live in very salty waters, or even in acidic environments. On the territory of the former USSR breeds in the Volga Delta and in the North-Western part of Kazakhstan.
