Coin of the sample of 1961. Is gray (sometimes gets a greenish patina), minted from copper-Nickel alloy, has no ferromagnetic properties. The herd consists of many notches.
The obverse shows the large coat of arms of the USSR of the sample of 1956 with fifteen turns of the tied ears of tapes (the number of republics of the Soviet Union). The coat of arms is simplified and has no text on the ribbon. Under the emblem there is a horizontal inscription "СССР" The mint mark is missing.
On the reverse at the top in the middle there is a large number of "20" indicating the denomination of the coin, underneath in a smaller font - the horizontal word "КОПЕЕК" centered in relation to the nominal value. Horizontally below the year of issue "1971" (the lower part of digits displayed in a semi-circle along the rim). In the lateral parts of the field of the coin in a semi-circle depicts a stylized ears of wheat, supplemented at the bottom of oak leaves.
Around the perimeter of the obverse and reverse sides of the coin there is a raised rim around the circumference.
