Coin of the sample of 1961, but with the herd 1964 (denomination and year of issue). Minted from copper-Nickel alloy grey with a greenish tint, has no ferromagnetic properties.
The obverse shows the large coat of arms of the USSR of the sample of 1956 with fifteen turns of the tied ears of tapes (the number of republics of the Soviet Union). The coat of arms is simplified and has no text on the ribbon. Around the emblem around the circumference from left to right the inscription: "СОЮЗ СОВЕТСКИХ СОЦИАЛИСТИЧЕСКИХ РЕСПУБЛИК" The beginning and the end of the label, separated by a five-pointed star, the inscription of the coat of arms is separated from the solid circular line with shading. The mint mark is missing.
On the reverse at the top in the middle there is a large number "1" indicating the denomination of the coin. The inner part of the figures has a horizontal hatching. Below in smaller font the word "РУБЛЬ" centered relative to the digit "1". Another horizontally below the year of issue "1970". In the lower and lateral part of the coin depicts a stylized semicircle, a wreath composed of two ears of wheat (above) and oak leaves (below), place a sling of two branches of a shell.
Around the perimeter of the obverse and reverse sides of the coin there is a raised rim around the circumference.
