The coin is issued for the Summer Olympic games in Moscow in 1980. Total circulation - 344812 PCs (118409 quality brilliant uncirculated, the rest Uncirculated). Part of the circulation is minted with the mark of the Leningrad mint.
The obverse of the coin is divided into two parts (upper approximately in 2 times more low). Each piece is framed with a solid line. In the upper part of the emblem of the USSR of the sample of 1956 with 15 bands of the tape (number of republics). The coat of arms is simplified and has no inscriptions on the ribbon. Left and right of the emblem there is an inscription "СССР" divided into two parts ("СС"and "СР". The letters are arranged in a semicircle, skirting the crest. At the bottom of the obverse in the middle is the denomination - a large number "10" under it, in smaller font the word "РУБЛЕЙ"
In the foreground of the reverse shows the participants of the game Kyz kuu in the time of persecution. Above them is the emblem of the Olympics - 80. In the lower part of the coin there is the national ornament of the peoples of Central Asia. Under the ornament in the middle horizontally indicated the year of coinage - "1978". Above the ornament on the right - the mint mark (MMD - Moscow
). At the top, left and right along the edge to stretch in a semicircle the inscription: "ИГРЫ XXII ОЛИМПИАДЫ""МОСКВА"and "1980", separated by dots.
On the front and back parts of the coin along the circumference has a raised rim.
Kyz kuu (catch the girl) - Kazakh and Kyrgyz national horse game. Participants act in their national costumes. The game consists of two parts - first the boy catches the girl and kisses, in the second part, they switch places (but the girl kisses the boy and hits him with a whip). Winners are selected not only for speed but also the beauty of the view.
