Description of coin 5 rubles 1980 "Olympics-80. Icinde":

The coin is issued for the Summer Olympic games in Moscow in 1980. Total circulation - 221740 PCs (of which 95 520 quality brilliant uncirculated, the rest Uncirculated).

The obverse of the coin is divided into two parts (upper approximately in 2 times more low). Each piece is framed with a solid line. In the upper part of the emblem of the USSR of the sample of 1956 with 15 bands of the tape (number of republics). The coat of arms is simplified and has no inscriptions on the ribbon. Left and right of the emblem there is an inscription "СССР" divided into two parts ("СС"and "СР". The letters are arranged in a semicircle, skirting the crest. At the bottom of the obverse in the middle is the denomination - a large numeral "5" under it, in smaller font the word "РУБЛЕЙ"

The reverse features two Georgian rider, which sets the spear to each other. In the lower part of the field of coins of the Georgian national pattern, over which in the middle is the emblem of the Olympics-80. Over the pattern on the left is the mint mark (LMD - Leningrad). At the top along the rim, a semicircular inscription stretches "ИГРЫ XXII ОЛИМПИАДЫ" below along the rim inscriptions: "МОСКВА"and "1980", separated by dots. In the lower part of the field of the coin in the middle near Kant indicated the year of coinage - "1980".

On the front and back parts of the coin along the circumference has a raised rim.


Isinde, is a Georgian national sport, in which competing two riders, throwing each other a spear with a length of 1.5 meters. End of the spear for safety protected by rubber or leather tip.
