The obverse of the coin
in the upper part of the disc - the coat of arms of the USSR of the sample of 1956: the hammer and sickle on a globe, beneath the rising sun, at the top a five-pointed star; the sides of the ears of corn, tied with fifteen turns of the tape, the lower stage is much wider, symbolizes the RSFSR (the rest of the coils - the other republics). Under the arms the full width of the coin there is an inscription "СССР" below is the value: a large stylized number "5" under which a semicircle along the edge to the floor "РУБЛЕЙ" even the small numbers below the year of issue "1991".The reverse of the coin
vividly depicts the building of the State Bank of the USSR (later - the Bank of Russia), in the foreground gate of the building. The bottom two lines of the inscription: "МОСКВА XIXв." Upstairs along the rim, a semicircular inscription in stylized font: "State Bank".
The obverse and reverse of the coin features the speaker on the circumference of the piping.

The state Bank was founded in 1860 as an institution engaged in money circulation and the organization of the issue of banknotes. For him a special building was built, performing its functions so far. In 1921 it was renamed the state Bank of the RSFSR, and after 2 years became the state Bank of the USSR. After the collapse of the Soviet Union the functions of the Bank were transferred to the Central Bank of the RSFSR, which was named "Bank of Russia".
