Description of coin 5 rubles 1991 "Red book. Fish owl":

Embossing is produced on the workpiece consisting of two metals - and-white copper-Nickel ring, inside which copper-zinc disk. The obverse and reverse sides have a protruding on the circumference of the piping.

The obverse of the coin in the center of the specified value: a large figure "5" under it horizontally the word "РУБЛЕЙ" still below the mark of the Leningrad mint (stylized letters "ЛМД". To the left of the denomination figures a Laurel branch, to the right is oak. The white rim above the inscription: "ГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫЙ БАНК СССР" at the bottom the year of issue: "1991". Labels separated by five-pointed stars.

On the coin reverse in the center (yellow disk) on the background of the marshy landscape with reeds is depicted sitting on a stone fish owl. On a circle above the inscription - "КРАСНАЯ КНИГА СССР" below - "РЫБНЫЙ ФИЛИН" Labels separated by dots.

Refers to a series of 15 bimetal coins dedicated to the animals of the red book.
